The first public meeting was on March 30th in Cambria. The meeting was well attended by an engaged and enthusiastic group of citizens. Attendees were given an overview of the project, which included a presentation about trails and the different types of trails that may become part of the coastal trail in San Luis Obispo County. After the overview, attendees were asked to participate in a mapping exercise. This exercise was designed to allow citizens to provide the coastal trail planning team with any information they were willing to share about existing conditions on the site, desired outcomes and design ideas. Those participating in the mapping exercise provided great detail about their favorite places on the coast, design ideas and areas of concern such as safety and risk of damage to the environment and wildlife. Meeting summaries and presentation materials will be posted here for your reference and review as they are completed.
